We believe in taking every opportunity to look for ways to improve the community at large. At Unified Life, we proudly take part in several community service initiatives and have done so for over thirty years.
The Buchanan family built Unified Life with this belief and supports it with involvement in community-focused efforts each year. We promote the many benefits of exercise by either participating, sponsoring, organizing or volunteering.
Running events are one of Unified Life’s very favorite causes. Each year, Unified Life sponsors the Kansas City Express Mother’s Day 5K at the Platinum Level.
The Mother’s Day 5K draws 4,000 participants annually, including women and girls of all ages and fitness levels.

One of Unified Life’s partners in community service this year was the Johnson County Christmas Bureau. Throughout October and November, we held several events to benefit this great organization. We’ve held an annual chili cook-off event in our offices since 2012, where our employees vote to award bragging rights to the top three dishes served.
In November 2017, Unified Life held its first annual toy drive. Toys donated during the event were donated to JCCB for their annual holiday shop. Families in need were able to choose among donated toys for free.
The Johnson County Christmas Bureau works each year to provide warmth and support during the winter holiday season to between 10,000 and 12,000 low-income neighbors in the Johnson County community. To learn more, visit http://www.jccb.org/.
